From outside can seem that the genre of a slesher was thoroughly preserved in the cliches and templates still many years ago, but in practice it slowly mutates and changes – any new ideas emerge, classical courses again become fashionable, periodically all turns over upside down post-modernist reconsiderations (we put notches on "Shout" and «To a hut in the wood»).

Specifically «To you the end» brings such intermediate mini-result under genre curves of the last five years: takes a plot of "Strangers" (nothing understanding inhabitants without the reason seen on that are terrorized by murderers in masks) and crosses it to the main counter of "Collector" Marcus Dansten – surprisingly the enterprising protagonist who gradually turns from the victim into the hunter. Now, in 2013, after «the Collector 2» and «Nobody survived» Ryukhey Kitamura, it seems not such original, but here it is necessary to consider that «To you the end» generally was complete in the 2011th. In this light even the decision to use as a soundtrack the mysterious synthpop appears not so tactical – at that time was not "Maniac", even "Drive".

Another thing is that to be the first – does not mean yet to be the best, and «To you the end» as it is offensive, at all the genre vyverennost and sincerity (if murder, close up, with blood extensively), a close framework of a genre to move apart unable. Characters do not cause sympathies, the logic in their acts that ferro-concrete, vanishes at all (just heroes ran up from windows through which at them fired from an arbalest, two minutes later, already being afraid of nothing, peer into darkness behind glass), action that is terribly serious, hits in macabre black humour.
