Sheryl (Reese Witherspoon) managed to endure a lot of things. The death mothers (Laura Dern) knocked down it, and Sheryl who has lost a point of support hit in all heavy – drugs and chaotic sex destroyed its marriage, and now the woman does not know how to live further. The possible solution of the problems she sees pedestrian travel to one thousand miles through all America, but to decide on it it appears more simply, than to finish the begun.
Sheryl Streyd’s autobiographical book in which it described the travel on the country after divorce, became the best-seller and Reese Witherspoon who got the rights to the screen version still interested before the book reached sale. Sheryl sent to a star a copy to a novel exit because considered that if someone and can play it cinema, Copes. For the sake of "Wild" Witherspoon refused a leading role in «Big eyes» (Ami Adams who has taken her place received for this film «Gold globe») and it was compelled to reduce the participation in "Disappeared" only to producing. The actress definitely saw high potential in this tape and was not mistaken.
The previous film of the Canadian director Jean-Marc Valle «Dallas club of buyers» became one of the main events of 2013 and received an armful of various awards, but to a tape there were certain claims, and, whatever one may do, it was under construction round the most powerful performances of Mettyyu Makkonakhi and Jared Leto – much more sincere, live and real, than the scenario of this crumpled "policy statement". In "Wild" a lot of things too depends on Witherspoon’s game, but, fortunately, not all – despite infinite open spaces of wild America in a shot, it is chamber, very intimate and deeply touching story how it is easy to lower the life in a toilet bowl and how many sweat, blood and tears it is required, that it then to stick together.
That who expects from "Wild" the intense "survayvalistsky" thriller about fight of the person against the nature, it is better to underestimate at once a level of expectations – yes, several times Sheryl gets to very unpleasant and difficult situations (remains without water under the scorching sun, loses footwear just while at it nails standing because of long walking start to fall off), but "Wild" first of all affects not the nervous terminations, and on heart. For Sheryl this "walk" – chance to get stronger not a body, and soul, possibility anew to endure the heaviest moments of the life that then to regenerate for new life on Bogov Bridge.
Brilliant installation seemingly chaotically scatters flashbacks on a plot, but in this seeming disorder thin mathematical calculation – mosaic slices slowly develop together, but thus you will not sit the half-film, without understanding that occurs, who all these people and that connects them. However the closer to the ending, the more distinctly you will understand, how it is heavy on soul at Sheryl – for it it not simply walk that «to air the head» after loss of the parent and unsuccessful marriage, here both pain, and fear before the future, and huge sense of guilt.
On Sheryl’s way many people – good, dangerous, strange will meet. In these fleeting meetings – the whole world and when the heroine is closer to the ending will face on a wood footpath the grandmother and the grandson then will endure a small catharsis, will jam heart. In general "Wild" – extremely cheerful and philanthropic cinema which thus does not run into a kind patochnost – Jean-Marc Valle and its screenwriter Nick Hornby do not read us the encyclopedia of human hearts, and simply wipe a window in the huge, diverse world outside.
