The New York detective Ralf Sarchi (Eric Ben) is completely given to work. Scott Derrikson now endures the difficult moment in career – its horror films bring good money therefore the common sense demands that it continued to forge iron while it is hot. However «it is simple to forge» incorrectly therefore Derrikson each new film should "extend and go deep" somehow. That is quite difficult, when you work in such zashtampovanny and transparent genre as a horror, and excessive diligence leads to that eventually "golden mean" remains somewhere behind.

Running forward, «Izbavi us from crafty» – cinema quite good, even, perhaps, good, but it suffers from redundancy. And speech not about director’s style – it quite laconic, distinct, without excesses, – and that Derrikson, apparently, is sure that from it wait at least new for "An expelling devil» – the film which will be perceived by the subsequent generations as axiomatic. From it and special attention to subject details and psychologism, and obsession "razmazyvaniye" a demon on three characters (because that marines would be not three, and one, the scenario it not should to copy especially at all), and indecent for «бу» – a horror film duration at two o’clock.
It is impossible to tell that time of Derrikson allocated to it "pulls" – any special saggings it is not visible, and even on the contrary, here and there the narration seems crumpled (Joel Makheyl’s hero, workmate Sarchi, in the first half of the film from it does not come unstuck, and in the middle for some reason for some time vanishes). Nevertheless it is classical attempt to inflate from fly of an elephant – to give out for an epic cloth qualitative, but quite traditional horror, not peddling old stuff a certain side. Unique rather fresh and in own way an amusing find of the film – the decision to make «the satellite of the evil» in our world of a song of The Doors group (one sound off-screen in the moments of collision with the evil, a line from others mutter afflicted with demons). Nevertheless eventually it appears not the important subject lever, and only beautiful "counter" from which changes nothing.
